glove at the savoy and other glove stories
i hadn’t spotted many gloves for ages until yesterday when i saw loads.
here is one on the road approaching the Savoy Hotel (note the cars driving on the wrong side of the road as is their tradition outside the savoy). i nearly got run over taking this photo (click it to see the glove and the Savoy hotel properly)
here’s a close up of the glove
.
and here are a load of gloves on the bank of the thames
and finally, here’s one which might be a glove but might not be:
last week i got an email from Mange Tout saying he too had a glove photo website which you can view here. i notice he’s found some other glove websites too !
off to see the Queen
Queen were playing in Hyde Park last night on the Live8 stage (delayed a week due to last week’s incidents). there were lots of Queen fans all over the park as i walked through.
it reminded me of being back at university – i was an engineering student and everyone on my course wore white trainers, blue jeans and white t-shirt (except me. i only wore black in those days)
protection
it was the 2 minute silence in rememberance of last week’s terrorism yesterday lunchtime.
of course the world today is no more dangerous than last week. it’s just we didn’t realise how dangerous it was last week until things went boom.
life is fragile for each of us. it’s just we don’t think about it much until something dreadful happens to our family, friends, town etc …
meanwhile here’s a statue guarding Chancerly Lane Tube Station (as seen in the picture above)
i took a picture of it a few weeks ago overlooking a bus.
who are we ?
as part of my plan for us all to recognise each other as fellow (and fellasses) funkypancake commenters and readers i’ve been asking people to send photos of themselves.
here’s jokey, regular surreal commenter from Germany. She’s running with a potato on a spoon in this picture. and who can blame her ?
