Matt (the blog’s landlord) found this last night. more details to follow !
update: now on davescollections
guard cat
this cat lives under a hairdressers shop. here it is looking up at the street from the stairs that lead to its cellar flat. perhaps it was waiting for the baker to turn up with his slice of white.
british bakeries
look at this slice of bread delivered on a massive bread pallet.
“just one slice today please Mr Baker”.
chair
here is a chair down a street. you might not be able to see it properly because it is sofa(r) away.
coke – is it ?
coke can off the edgware road. it’s definately a real coke can as it said coca-cola in normal writing on the other side.
ironing board (and lodging)
here is an ironing board outside a guest house. ironing boards look so lost out in the street.
gloves
summer glove season is on and winter glove season is officially over.
we’ve been in that inbetweeny period where it’s been too hot for winter gloves, but too cold for people to go outside and get their painting/DIY/medical gloves on.
big eye’s big hair
our old (he’s 50) friend Big Eye came round this evening and stood under our tree.
i think it worked well as an environmentally friendly hair piece (peace?).
what’s the most bizarre thing you’ve ever worn on your head in public ? i’ll tell you mine if you tell me yours.
henley from the river
here is henley viewed from the middle of the Henley Royal Regatta race course.
despite visiting henley hundreds of times, we’ve never been on a river cruise. today we did and it was a really nice relaxing way to spend an hour and a quarter !
floating arrow illusion
here is a floating piece of flourescent rubbish in the thames at henley. from the angle we viewed it, it looked like an arrow. but in fact it was a flat piece of yellow wood and it was just an illusion !
lunch with nanna
here is kezia and my mum
a day of fun
i’m on holiday today so it’s an official day of fun. esther’s gone to school so my mum and i are taking kezia to toddler aerobics, then we’ll pick esther up and head off for an afternoon of jollity in henley. then back for a fish and chips supper.
and the weather looks great too !
hoorah.
a day in the life of
it’s a working from home day today and i’ve got tomorrow off work, so i thought i’d try a 24 hours photo thing. me or a bit of me (eg finger) will appear in each photo and i’ll take them around 5 minutes past the hour. i’ll keep updating and moving this entry throughout the day.
jane was questioning why there aren’t any truely awful pictures of me on the blog. so here’s more than my quota’s worth.
update: the day is done. i’ve taken my last photo (11.05). i’m tired and am going to bed.
here’s my first photo of being awake this morning at 4am. for those that didn’t see my commentary at the time i prepared my face by wiping my teeth dry and ‘sticking’ my lips in the horrible smiley configuration you see here.
so what have i learned ?
puttin the bins out
for the 24 hour thing i thought i’d take a picture of me putting the bins out. i got a bit sidetracked photo-ing a hedgehog (a sweet little chap).
i sat down in front of the bins and took this photo. unfortunately i missed my face and you can’t see the bins. but other than that i’m pleased with it.
saxon maze
my mum and i took the girls to a maze this afternoon (hoorah for early work starts providing early work finishes !). it’s a Saxon Maze which was built in 1991. £1.50 for adults and jolly good fun.
kezia enjoyed running off and playing hide and seek. a maze is very handy if you are the hider but less good if you are the seeker, so we kept having to catch her as she whizzed off round corners. unfortunately this just encouraged her more !
and here is my mum and esther and kezia in the maze:
