i went star gazing whilst on holiday and took my camera. a lady then took it away and attached it to a magic tripod to get the stars below (click for a bigger view of awesomeness)

you can see the southern cross in both of these pictures

it was bizarrely light up on top of the mountain where we did the star watching because of the full moon

and we got to wear funky Antarctic coats

this is the other end of the lake which is fed by yesterday’s glacier

we’ve just got back from a week’s holiday in the South Island (of New Zealand)

here’s some pictures of a glacier we walked to.  and the great glacial valley it has left behind as it retreats at ever increasing speed
