elderly people
kezia said this sign must mean elderly people are people over 30 years old. but she also told me people put cucumbers on their eyes so they look like people with cucumber eyes, so i don’t believe everything she says. so i suggest you don’t either.
jethro tull – a musical cul de sac ?
i found a jethro tull album to listen to whilst blogging this evening (Songs from the Wood). i’m considering reinventing myself as a pixie.
thames path – part 16 wallingford to moulsford
i had the day off yesterday and it was back to the thames path after a couple of months off due to construction/destruction and illness. we were all fighting fit (and nearly builder-free) so our short reintroductory 4 mile walk from wallingford to moulsford
here was the first view of the thames as we crossed the bridge in wallingford
what do you do if you haven’t got any signs with the arrows pointing the right way ? turn one of the other ones sideways obviously.

we passed fairmile hospital, which is now inmate less. it used to be owned by the Berkshire Mental Health Trust and now looks set for regeneration

at moulsford we stopped at the Beetle and Wedge pub which was a very posh restaurant, but slightly less inviting for a post walk drink. but the view and drinks were still very welcome.

Henley Arts Trail
esther, kezia and I went on the Henley Arts Trail yesterday. I didn’t take too many photos as it was too wet, and people’s art is their copyrights etc.
it really was a great day out. it was fascinating to see the different types of artists and see their studios. everyone was so nice and jolly.
so, all in all, another great bank holiday weekend activity !

we’re leaving glove find season, which is a shame. but summer is still not quite here so there’s still a few out there to be found.
sonning scarecrows
today (bank holiday monday) and yesterday are the biannual Sonning Scarecrow Trail. As usual there was a fantastic number of excellent scarecrows (75+ i think) in this pretty village by the Thames.
this year we decided to give marks out of 10 on our map to help us choose our favourite. Kezia was in charge of numbers.

it was also great to see some popular and so not so popular characters appearing in the trail. such as the excellent mighty boosh
Esther made me do some impressions of the Moon and Harrison which amused her, confused kezia, and worried the locals.
the same happened when we found cartman.
there was also a healthy amount of death and destruction, whether sharks eating limbs (very popular) or Pete Doherty and Amy Winehouse in rehab.

perhaps most scary of all was iggle piggle, seen here with the lady who was going in to the house. i wonder if that’s actually iggle piggle’s wife, and they just happen to live here in real life ?

the sad story of kev
bother in law kev has been tagged. he looks proud of it here, but the reality will catch up with him soon.
he found himself stuck behind the bars in the don’t go in there place
and ended up in a bare cell.
