My favourite was spotted in one of the French North-coast ferry terminal towns where one of the desserts (aux choix) was: Isles Flottantes Flotting Islands

i remember quizzing my lovely wife jane about foreign words and to test her thought i’d choose a really tricky word for her to translate.
“what’s french for pipette?” i asked.
