strobist seminar
i went on an off flash photography course yesterday by the chap who runs strobist. fantastic but exhausting stuff.
it was one of those courses that’s inspirational, but reveals how much i’ve got to learn and practice ! i tried a few things we’d learnt yesterday afternoon and got thoroughly depressed (and kezia got bored). so i stood in front of my flash instead and kezia took my photo

julian cope
i went to see julian cope last friday evening. bit weird. musically excellent as ever, but some of his rants seemed a little more aggressive than usual and the audience reaction was polarised leading to tension. still, a great night out, but a dreadful sneaky picture !

there was a big pile of them on a rock
and it’s always nice to see some oil refinery type thing behind wildlife
the day i got terrorised by seagulls whilst looking for puffins thus proving i’m a chicken
i went to inchcolm island to see the puffins. but unfortunately i got terrorised by hundreds (literally) of angry seagulls who were nesting along the path that would take me close to where the puffins would be. the puffins have been scared off too it seems which is a shame.
i did see the seals (sea the seels?) but that wasn’t quite the same. the closest i got was possibly this but it’s probably not puffins
my new favourite live band
i saw this band two nights in a row when i was in edinburgh. i’ve not done that since a julian cope double bill back in 91 (or something). anyway, go see actiongroup live (much better than their recorded stuff i think)
