it’s good to see pictures of dogs some of which aren’t already in my collection. here are a selection of dog signs seen whilst on holiday.
luckily this dog is heavy enough to keep this floating man from blowing away:

dog sign

this is a local dog sign. to my surprise i haven’t blogged it before and it is slightly different from other dog signs i’ve got. specifically the little red cross by its back leg. not to be confused with this one

picture of a dog

it’s been ages sinces i’ve found a new sign of a hound. so it gives me great pleasure to present you with one today.

sign of an airport hound

remember this dog from Tegel airport ? The picture i took last time was quite simply rubbish as i’d taken it from the reverse side of the door and the lighting was all wrong. my bastest photoshopping still wasn’t good enough.
this evening i refound the cafe where the sign was last time and it was still there. i climbed across a customer and caputered this photo in all it’s glory.

i was very pleased to get this photo and can only apologise for the poor quality of my previous attempt

sign of a dog

here is a sign of a dog which looks more like a cow. notice the skinny tail and ear. esther spotted another sign next to this one. she said “why is there a picture of a camera with a line through it ?”. ooops

bank dog

a dog sign on a bank. not sure what the eye one means. no winking at the bank staff ?

signs of hounds

here is a picture of a hound and a rather mysterious shape which looks unforunately a little like a bottom.

strangest dog sign

i spotted this sign on a door to pub which doesn’t sell food on a sunday night in Hartley Wintney on our way back. we were dissapointed by the food, but over the moon (non eclipsed) about this sign-spot.
a bloke behind the pub asked for the URL of the website, so maybe he’ll leave a comment and tell me the name of the pub so i recommend it to dog sign spotters everywhere ?

sgn of a dog

i’ve seen this dog before. This time it was different as i found the sign tucked away behind some railings. he is a picture of me holding that sign and ‘making it my own’.

army dog sign

we drove through an army barracks this afternoon. i spotted a picture of a dog on a sign and I risked getting shot by jumping out of the car and getting a photo. jane was more than happy to drive the car in to the firing line so i could get my shot

if you look carefully to the right of the photo you can see the guard dog.

hound etc

here is a row of signage from the side of the Arlanda Express in Stockholm. I saw the sign of the dog described in the train safety instruction book so walked up and down the train looking for it on windows etc.
I didn’t find it, so reread the booklet to find that it said the sign was on the outside of the train. As we approached the airport I asked the ticket collector which end of the train dogs were allowed. She said “at both ends, but if you are disabled then you can have them in the middle”.
So i ran down to the front of the train to get the sign, but when i got there the sign wasn’t there. in fact it was at the back of the train which went whizzing a few seconds later before i could take a photo.
so i made the chap i was travelling with wait 15 minutes for the next train. i postitioned myself at the back of the platform so i could get the photo. the train arrived and … the dog sign on this train was at the front. so i ran down the platform just in time to get this photo:

definately worth the wait i’d say. look at the variety of signs, and the very angular dog

charity dogs

here is a sign of a dog from a charity shop door. it’s quite like a previously seen dog, but the tail is slightly different. very interesting. perhaps it was from the same doggy’s portfolio.

strange dogs

here is a good picture of dog. is it a sign for dogs, about dogs or told by a dog ? can you trust a dog to tell you about strangers ? has the man in black got a dog’s head ? is he just a shadow ? are the children strangers (or do they know each other). the sign just contributes to confusion in my opinion.

whatever it means, it does contain a nice detailed picture of a dog:

more dog signs

hey, someone else is collecting pictures of dogs !

here are some dog signs
(this site was discovered by swara when she was trying to find a random google which would get her back to the funkypancake site – i’m not responsible for the content of the site, some of which might not be family friendly)

tube hounds

here is a dog picture from the london underground. i’ve never seen a dog on the underground. i’ve seen pigeons but never dogs. it’s a different story in europe of course where dogs are taken everywhere.
