hassock of the week
this week’s hassock of the week is quite special as it’s from the ascension memorial church ipswich massachusetts. before you panic that i’ve spent the funkypancake travel budget on a trip to massachusetts to take a picture of a hassock, i didn’t. i took the photo in a church in ipswich, england.
i think i’ve tracked down the ascension memorial church though. it’s here. interesting rotating pictures on the front page, especially the one which shows a girls coat glowing with holiness
interesting2007
interesting2007 was excellent. my talk went ok i think. i enjoyed presenting and people seemed to laugh in the right places. here’s a picture tony took of me in mid flow.

interesting 2007
yikes. today (saturday) i’m talking at Interesting 2007. i’ve got a 15-20mins slot and have 212 powerpoint slides. i do a lot of presentations at work, and often throw in a few funkypancake pictures for good measure. but this one is just about the photos. panic is brewing !

after spending hours last night trying to avoid reflections of my fluorescent red t-shirt at the photography night school, i managed to exclude myself by accident from this mirrored ball ! Or perhaps i really was invisible ?
the spade oak – bourne end
jane and i had a lovely lunch at the spade oak in bourne end. fantastic place. well worth a visit
important wedding at Cliveden House
to celebrate the end of jane’s marking, jane and i went to Cliveden House yesterday for a walk. The place is getting ready for wedding on saturday
it’s obviously going to be quite an exciting event for someone
there’s a big disco thing being set up on the terrace (2 days early)
and i liked how they stored all the flight cases in the underground vaulty bits
you can see how big the undercover area is from these distant shots
and on this one you can make out the thames 200 feet lower down on the left to give you some idea of the geography (google earth sky-view here)
update: the wedding is between Steven Gerrard, 27, Liverpool Captain and Alex Curran, 24, former nail technician who met Gerrard at a nightclub and is mother of his two children, Lilly-Ella, three and Lexie, one. I know this because it was in the London Evening Standard this evening. Once again, Funkypancake was first with the news !

i’m doing another photo course with tony, although we’re in separate groups this time. i see he’s put some of his excellent photos on his flickr stream already.

monday night was music night, as i was invited by a work colleague for a musical jam in acton. much blues ensued.

ok – so this isn’t exactly an animal dressed up as a person (or vice-versa), but it’s still a person dressed up (i think). and he/she has some cute moves to make their blackberry sweetness shine through.
