  1. Did that sofa crash into a pole/road sign and roll over. That would be some strange accident to report.

  2. this is an interesting one. i think you can say one penny or one pence.
    as long as people know what you are on about then i recon it doesn’t matter.
    i struggle just to be understood !

  3. Looking at 1p and 2p coins I see that the first says “one penny” and the seconds says “2 new pence”. So maybe you also need the “new” if it is two. (5, 20, 50 don’t have the “new” – I don’t have a 10)

  4. you don’t have a 10 pence piece ? i forgot your wife doesn’t trust you with such high value coins.
    (other than the 20 and 50 penny coins of course)
    we should move to Euro(s). it would be much simpler than all these sovereigns, nickels and nuggets.

  5. They stopped putting “new” in front of penny or pence in 1982.
    Euros? Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!
