i had a day back at my old office in central london yesterday so met russell (interesting2007 organiser) for breakfast. he chose eggs bacon chips and beans which delighted me no end. i had toast.

jane and i did a lovely walk in Hambleden yesterday which was great and covered all your essential inland walking requirements – dense wood, flowing hills, fields full of sheep, a short walk alongside a main road and a stretch alongside the thames before arriving back at the free carpark next to a pub. fantastic stuff.
hambleden is a picturesque place often used for filming. We did the circular walk downloadable here. it’s only the walk which is downloadable. you still have to walk it yourself.
i thought this was a squirrel, but jane thinks a rat. there was a red kite flying above our heads when we found this and i was hoping for some swooping action. but none happened whilst we were there.
can you help me identify the dead thing to settle this marital score ?
i had a day off work yesterday so jane and i went for another walk and a pub lunch. we’re getting in to quite a nice routine, and i can see a nice retirement ahead in about 30 years time (assuming we can both still work by then. might be zimmer framing down to mcdonalds).
anyway, we had our lunch in the Stag and Huntsman in Hambleden and the food was fantastic. you must go.
these signs were at cliveden house, which as we now know was the venue for a famous footballer’s wedding and his, no doubt footballing, guests. plenty of signs were therefore needed to prevent football tomfoolery.
this week’s hassock of the week is quite special as it’s from the ascension memorial church ipswich massachusetts. before you panic that i’ve spent the funkypancake travel budget on a trip to massachusetts to take a picture of a hassock, i didn’t. i took the photo in a church in ipswich, england.
i think i’ve tracked down the ascension memorial church though. it’s here. interesting rotating pictures on the front page, especially the one which shows a girls coat glowing with holiness
interesting2007 was excellent. my talk went ok i think. i enjoyed presenting and people seemed to laugh in the right places. here’s a picture tony took of me in mid flow.
here’s russell and his shadow
here’s a chap playing the saw and his shadow
here’s a picture i drew of tony without looking, thus proving that photography is probably my preferred medium
and here’s the superior picture tony drew of me proving he’s got better coordination than i have
at some point, i’ll get my presentation podcasted up so you can see what i presented if you are interested. meanwhile there are other pictures from the conference on its flickr pool
