man at the window

i work on the third floor of my building and it was with some surprise that i saw this man walk straight towards me from a few metres away outside the window.
it’s ok for him to levitate – he’s wearing a tabard.

if you look to the left of the picture you can see my head reflected in the incredibly clean windows.

more milkman stories

more shocking stuff from the mad london milkman. this morning there was a nice chest of drawers on his float. maybe it’s his drinks cabinet. i hope to see an arm chair and a television up there tomorrow.

clothes

it was a good day for clothes today. i didn’t find any gloves, but did find this hat:

and a rather mysterious red and white thing:

global warming

no wonder we are suffering from global warming. there are radiators all over london.
here are some near paddington:

and here is one by my office:

army dog sign

we drove through an army barracks this afternoon. i spotted a picture of a dog on a sign and I risked getting shot by jumping out of the car and getting a photo. jane was more than happy to drive the car in to the firing line so i could get my shot

if you look carefully to the right of the photo you can see the guard dog.

luncheon

we went to some friends house for a meal today which was excellent. esther and kezia went under the dinner table to worry their dog, fudge. i had a lovely photo lined up with kez, esther and fudge. it would have been great. then they all moved. as animals/kids do.

the conversation proved too much for one fellow diner:

and our the host resorted to showing the kids how to do lego properly:

miniturisation

phones are always getting smaller.

this one, modelled here by esther, has a nice polyphonic ring tone and picture messaging facility.

who wants to read the subtitles

i love subbies on the telly. ceefax/teletext page 888. i was concerned they might not be there when we went digital but i needn’t have worried.
my favourite thing of all is watching top of the pops with subtitles so i can learn the words to the hip songs that the kids are singing.
i’ve discovered another nice idea this evening after a pleasant drink of Honey Dew. i was playing The Beta Band very loudly whilst watching Who Wants To Be A Milli on the telly. WWTBAM is annoying to watch usually (in my opinion) but without the sound and the subbies on it’s much better. The whole experience was quite pleasant.

liz, esther and lamby

afternoon tea and cakes is a very British thing to do. today we were joined by out friend Liz who joined us for a late tiffin.

museum study

here are esther and kezia in reading museum doing some study.

kezia became very attached to a stuffed badger and she was quite upset when we had to leave.

eruption

despite being 30 miles away i am able to tell what is happening on the streets of london thanks to my network of spies. here is an interesting picture sent by telco-john. he spotted some pavement eruption.
maybe it’s caused by some prisoners who are digging an escape tunnel ? perhaps the villains are hiding in the bins ?
or maybe it’s something to do with Goodge Street station and the trouble on the Northern Line. They’ll be a lot of pressure building up underground at the moment, it’s only natural it should have to release itself.

the best bit about this picture is that it shows that a couple of bins have wandered over to the eruption to investigate. bins care about the street – that’s why they are happy to accept all our rubbish.

generosity

as we approach the weekend, i advise you to be generous.
yesterday i overheard a man on the train say to his friend “i’m not shy about spending a bob or two”. hoorah for the nouveau rich i thought to myself.
what if you can’t afford to be generous financially ? well, why not start by filling everything up to the brim ?
(this was the 1000th funkypancake blog entry by the way !)
