toilet possessivenesss is still very much in evidence in modern england.
john sent me two pictures of some fantastic toilets. it's got instructions which say 'do not stand on the toilet seat' which seems quite sensible.
and look at the fantastic receptacles. there's something for everyone here. urinals, a bin and a fireplace
i don't usually encourage toilet photography as it has the potential to go very wrong. but these are great !
i went to the coliseum (home of Eno [not brian] yesterday for a meeting. i needed a power socket to plug my laptop in to send some emails and i was escorted to a little room by the staircase.
in it was a little table and an even smaller room with a sink (and i assume round the corner a toilet). unfortunately it was out of mobile and wifi coverage so it wasn't much use to me.
fancy that.
if you want to make something appealing to kids you need to turn it in to a computer game ... or ... associate it with poo. this classic ball shooting game (drop the balls down a pipe with air zooming through it to fire them) has been renamed as 'shoot your poo'.
the balls are the poos which can get cleansed by the water reeds (the things with teeth and eyes).
see, it makes perfect sense now i've explained it.
things have got bad on london's tube network, with parts of it closed for maintenance. so they've laid on alternative transport, including these first class private booths which can be delivered directly to people's houses. brilliant.
our holiday bible club ended with a BBQ and outside concert which was good fun. many of the photos i took during the week were projected on to a screen at the side of the band and could only be viewed by standing behind us. which meant there were people standing next to myself and the drummer which was very strange.
anyway, we had a really good week, but what i won't miss most is the portaloos. kezia liked them, but i think that's because she found the flush good fun.
it's another one of those famous belgian outside toilets
in the prison museum in Kings Lynn
more belgian gents facilities. it's great how they've all been painted to liven them up and make them standout.
this one had elvis on it:
this one had some strange animals going mad:
and how's this for a modern one in brussels ? i think it's only for blokes, but i guess ladies could use it too. just not quite as privately:
.watch out for the door .and "nibbles" .And Full Stops At The Beginning Of Sentences Instead Of The End
if you go to lulworth cove and go to the gentlemen's toilets you may be lucky enough to see this bizarre thing. it's the pattern on the wall by the sinks. it does very strange things to your eyes when you see it full size (it went from floor to ceiling if i remember correctly)
blokes toilets at Broadlands.
there was more to it than just this hose pipe and mains lead
there were a load of sinks in a row:
