the smoking ban is certainly meaning more lighters out on the street. unfortunately it's also meant more smokers in the street ruining my secret outside world in london. although, i can't really claim that the outside world is really secret.
lighter in the middle of a busy road
as regular readers will know, i now work in the 'burbs rather than down town london (quite near to Heathrow, so give me a wave out the window as you're coming down). this photo is taken in the middle of 6 lanes of the A4 with cars whizzing by each side. just so you know the lengths i go to get you some photos !

i caused a bit of a street pile-up whilst taking this picture as the person behind me didn't expect me to lunge on the floor to take a photo of a broken lighter. if there's one thing to expect in london, it's the unexpected, but people are still surprised by the unordinary.

commuting in this weather is not fun, especially as my usual morning train has been cancelled more often than it's actually appeared in the last week meaning i've had up to a 3 hours miserable, hot, crushing commute to meetings. which isn't fun.
