i like the whizzyness of the sign.  if you've got a jet car, this is how you'd arrive at your flat.

we went geocaching yesterday in a wood.  we got a bit lost (missed a footpath turning), but found 6/9 and saw some great things.  like this weird metal statue (click on the picture to see the word reflected in its globe).

the arrow's actually pointing up to saint paul's dome (although you can't see the dome as it's too slightly round the corner). and that's not actually where the cafe is.

adds more gravitas to the heavenly cakes

once you've played on a dance mat you can next walk down the street without involuntary jumping your legs about when you see a sign like this.

as if we needed more evidence of bollards' inabilities to play hide and seek, here's one hiding behind a giant arrow. the arrow is pointing to its feet ! what dreadful hiding.

The NORTH is such a great place. you should go. i went for a few years and thoroughly loved it.

it's appropriate the angel is in the sky. (these signs have sticky outy writting and the black edges are shadows from a rare appearance by the sun)

i'm really pleased with this picture.

click on it for the big version and admire the arrow work. it's great how it's parallel with the ground, requiring the bollard to be upsway down.

and note the wonky road arrow in the distance pointing in the opposite way.

funkypancake - sometimes it's almost like art.

there's some good signs here, but my favourite one if on the right.

someone obviously put the arrows on the wrong way round, and rather than putting it on the other side of the door, they came up with the brilliant idea of putting it upsway down !

i bet they were really pleased with themselves for thinking of that. and so they should be. it's a special kind of logic.

this is like some fancy physics drawing. or a shape finding treasure map. or something else.

(you need to look at the big version to see this)

DSC08848.jpg

these pedestrian signs are designed so you can put the blanking plate on the other end of the arrow so it'll point either direction.

you certainly don't need to turn it upsway down.

but i'm glad they did.

i like the blurryness of this picture.

there's something very amateur about this use of blue and the poor edge-work of the blue colouring-in. you learn to appreciate decent colouring-in when you have little kids about the house.
