we went to babbacome model village back in May (!) and i took loads of photos.

070527_350d_img_8486.jpg

so to celebrate the fact i've finally got round to posting them, here's a day dedicated to them

070527_350d_img_8487.jpg

the place is just amazing.  you could easily spend half a day there.

070527_350d_img_8488.jpg

it's just great !

070527_350d_img_8491.jpg

the attention to detail is spot on

070527_350d_img_8496.jpg

and there's always something to spot wherever you look like this car shop of movie cars

070527_350d_img_8500.jpg

through to natural blending in with created (real trees in the background in the distance)

070527_350d_img_8501.jpg

and annoying things like roadworks outside the holiday village

070527_350d_img_8502.jpg

or confused toilet visitors

070527_350d_img_8503.jpg

and nudists (that'll cause havoc with your google ads, sorry!)

070527_350d_img_8514.jpg

and who's this ?  it's hairy hat man, my favourite letter shaped character

070527_350d_img_8520.jpg

great to see a line of bollards

070527_350d_img_8521.jpg

and a traffic disaster

070527_350d_img_8523.jpg

the sense of humour even extends to the toilet sign (which was full sized - actually the sign and toilets were full sized)

070527_350d_img_8526.jpg

they were building an olympic stadium for 2012

070527_350d_img_8530.jpg

signage to hel

070527_350d_img_8531.jpg

and this brilliant load of runners containing various characters.

070527_350d_img_8534.jpg

and on the subject of comedy characters ...

070527_350d_img_8537.jpg

in the "world of favourite characters" they had this Matrix recreation which contained a no-dogs sign.

070527_350d_img_8539.jpg

what a brilliant place.  go and visit.  now.

fp said: "you could easily spend half a day there". But as everything is about twenty times shorter there, half a day would last only half an hour. Is that right?

If you ever find yourself in Holland with some free time, then I would definately recommend :-

Just like Babbacombe Model Village, but with that distinctive Dutch twist. Madurodam at night is fantastic !
