getting the train from london to edinburgh should be one of those epic train journeys. but it wasn't realy. but it had its moments, like this one, which is a power station with a nice field in front of it.

It's still my favourite train journey, but its epic quality has disappeared because of the speed. Favourite points: the 5 bridges at Newcastle and the views across Northumberland to Holy Island and Bamburgh Castle.
they should provide a little card showing 'points of interest' on the journey.
on the way back my suitcase fell out of the overhead luggage racks and i just managed to push it off course in time so it didn't kill the man sitting underneath it. ooops. it's quite a wobbly journey as it leaves edinburgh station !
