mysterious whirly whirler
my train took a long time to get home this evening. but then these late night trains do.
when i arrived at my station there were loads of vans parked up and there were strange lights further up the track. i think they were doing some mending.
as i walked away i heard a strange whiring noise. i turned and saw what looked like a dinosaur going along the tracks. i took a photo to show you (it was quite dark):
Definitive proof that dinosaurs still live among us.
Why do you call it the Whirly Whirler? Isn't that a toy? Those lights look like that toy, by the way!
i'm not sure why i named it that.
i've not heard of a whirly wirler toy, but it sounds good.

Click on the W-W pic. It's a plate you spin on a stick, and those lights look just like that. I used to own a Whirley Whirler.

What's weirder is that I could not see the "dinosaur" without looking very hard. Your photo is so dark. All I saw were the Whirley Whirlers. (The first word officially has an "e" in it, as you see in the pic I linked.) Here's one on its stick (used for something else):
